Alternative Funding
I have received the maximum amount of Federal aid that I am eligible for. How can I get more money for college?
FirstMerit offers several lending options including home equity lines of credit and personal loans that you may be eligible for. If this is not an option for you, contact your school's financial aid office. They'll help you find a program that works for you.
Repayment
When do I have to pay back my student loan?
Typically, repayment on the Federal Loan Program loans will not begin until 6 months after you graduate, become less than half time, or drop out of school. If you have questions regarding the repayment of your student loan, contact Great Lakes Higher Education Borrower Services at 1-800-236-4300 or visit MyGreatLakes.com.
Consolidation
I would like to consolidate all of my student loans into one payment. What do I need to do?
There are many companies that will consolidate student loans. You can call Student Loan Funding at 1-877-477-7537.
