  • PCI compliance was designed to prevent security breaches and theft of payment card data by providing an actionable framework for developing a robust payment card data security process which includes prevention, detection, and the appropriate reaction to security incidents 
  • PCI compliance applies to all organizations and merchants, regardless of size or number of transactions, that accept, transmit or store any cardholder data
